On this page you will find a selection of interesting video clips of Bill and the Comets in action! All
the clips are hosted on the "Youtube" site Bill and the Comets appear on the "Spotlight" TV show on Austrian TV in December 1976 at the start of their European tour. The line-up features Bill Turner on lead guitar, Herb Hutchinson on rhythm, Jim Lebak on bass, Wayne Stevens on drums and George Baker on tenor sax. This was the first tour undertaken by Bill since the death of Rudy Pompilli in January of that year.
Razzle
Dazzle A good version of this Haley classic. I personally prefer these later arrangements of this song feeling it moves on at a swifter, smoother pace than the original.
Unfortunately sax player George Baker was unwell at the start of this tour. He was also faced with the daunting task of filling the shoes of the great Rudy Pompilli. Take a close look at Bill during the last chorus of the song when poor George strikes a bum note.

Around The Clock What can you say about this. As always, Bill delivers the goods! Although it has to be said, we are denied the final instrumental chorus.
Interview The ever polite Bill copes admirably with the Austrian TV host. Carefully making sense of his rather disjointed questions and waiting patiently while the host talks to the audience in German. |
